BIO-SECURITY

What is bio-security?

·      Farmers have to make sure that there land is not infected by diseases and pests.
·      Bio-security is the steps farmers take to protect their farm land.

How do beef farmers reduce bio-security risks to their farms?

·      Beef farmers reduce bio-security risks by making sure they know were there water, food and supplies.
·      It is important for farmers to keep a record of their supplies on the date they arrive at the farm.

What can you and your community do to keep Australia clean?

·      We can stop littering in water ways
·      We can reduce, reuse and recycle
·      Plant native trees and plants
·      encourage  people to use public transport, ride bikes, walk and skate
·      organise your community to clean  rubbish in local beaches and parks

What can we do as a community to keep Australia safe?

We can as a community spread public awareness, so knowledge of what pests and diseases can do to our environment and how it can harm ourselves. We can also report anything suspicious that we see. For example, an insect that you haven’t seen before and have no knowledge of could prove to be very dangerous. We could also make more effort into keeping equipment clean by wiping it over with disinfectants in our household.
